My Pet

The bond between me and my cat

Today I am going to share some memory of my pet named Bini. So,let me introduce you to the stars of the show – Bini and her son Hambu.

Hambu

Bini is my first pet. She came into my life in the most unexpected way. Most people typically adopt kittens, but she entered my life as a full-grown, six-month-old cat. One of my close friends gave her to me because she had the flu at the time, and it could affect other cats, so she needed to stay separated. I took her in and treated her for 10-15 days, regularly taking her to the vet. I never intended to adopt her, but during those 10-15 days, I grew to like her a lot and decided to adopt her. She wasn't your typical cuddly, clingy cat; instead, she was fierce and grumpy. At first, she didn't let anyone pet her. To this day, she only allows me and my younger brother to hold her or pet her, which makes me feel really special. She's a really intelligent cat as if she understands everything. When it's time to take her to the vet, bathe her, or trim her nails, she hides. She was never a playful cat. I used to buy lots of cat toys for her, but she doesn't play with any of them.

2-3 months after adopting her, she gave birth to 3 kittens, but unfortunately, 2 of them died. Only one survived, and that's Hambu. It was really special for me because she took Hambu by biting his cuff and placed him near my leg, looking at me as if she wanted me to appreciate for her hard work. During the pregnancy period, she was super clingy. It was wintertime, and there wasn't a single day when she didn't sleep with me.

4-5 weeks old Hambu

Hambu, Bini's son, is her polar opposite. He's such a quiet, cute furball. Seriously, this guy never met a toy he didn't like or a lap he couldn't snuggle up on.

He's the kind of cat who'll make friends with anyone and everyone. Hambu has been sleeping with me since the very beginning of his life, and he always follows me wherever I go.He likes to eat a lot, and all day he plays and watches birds. He's just a bundle of sunshine and joy.

He was named hambu for his cow-like colors

When I first wanted to bring pets, my parents seriously disagreed. My younger brother was dead scared of cats. But look at them now. My mom always watches TV while Hambu is sleeping in her lap. My brother made so much progress that he can now hold Bini in his lap. Bini! She's such a ferocious animal, always hissing and growling at strangers. She's the most fierce cat I've ever seen in my life. One time I took her to the vet, and she was growling so loudly that a lady thought they were killing and torturing cats in the clinic. I get worried when my cats get sick. One time, Bini was unwell and wasn't eating properly, and I could not eat properly. Another time, Bini ventured out from home to explore the surroundings, and I couldn't find her for like 6-7 hours. I searched high and low, leaving no stone unturned. It felt like my world was crumbling.

I wake up in the morning to the sound of them meowing for food. Other than preparing their meals and cleaning the litter box, there isn't much else to do. They spend most of the day sleeping, but when they're awake, oh man, do they demand attention! Always curious about what I'm up to, my cats insist on snoozing on my books and laptop, and they're always up for a play session. In the afternoon, they love watching birds. I can't be away from home for too long because I need to feed them, and cats can't stay alone. They often disturb me while I'm working, and to this day, I still can't use a mosquito net because they tear it apart. But despite all the chaos they bring, I love them to bits. To me, they're not just pets – they're my daughter and grandson.
