  • INTRODUCTION : 

    

              “ He said to them , ‘ Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation .’”-                                                                                                             Mark 16:15(NIV) .

In the Bible , the term “Gospel” fundamentally means “Good news.” This good news centers on the life ,death and resurrection of Jesus Christ , who, according  to Christian belief , came into the world to save humanity from sin and show the correct path to live.

 And this is where the Israeli authorities named their AI-based weapons. It’s ironic that the Israeli authorities have named their new AI-based weapon system (which is helping the IDF to strike on  HAMAS and innocent people of Palestine ) with the name Habsora (Hebrew for “THE GOSPEL”) meaning ‘Good News’. According to +972 Magazine ( an independent ,online ,nonprofit magazine run by a group of Palestinian and Israeli journalists), permissive airstrikes on non - military targets and the use of an artificial intelligence system have enabled the Israeli army to carry out its deadliest war on Gaza.


  • WORKING PROCESS OF GOSPEL : 

   Habsora (Hebrew for “THE GOSPEL”) are giving suggestions to the IDF about those areas where Hamas and Islamic Jihad are suspected to be. According to Tal Mimran (Former Legal Advisor of Israeli Ministry of Justice and Military ), this Ai-based weapon system is divided into 3 layers and each layer performs different  functions. Those layers are : 

  • THE ALCHEMIST : which collects the information. The system gathers vast amounts of surveillance data ,including drone footage, intercepted communication and other places .

  • THE FIRE FACTORY: Using machine learning algorithms, the system analyses this data to identify potential targets. 

   According to VOX, The Fire Factory separates data in several ways, namely:

  1. Tactical Targets: Armed militant cells, weapons warehouses, launchers, militant headquarters.

  2. Underground Targets: Hamas or Islamic Jihad tunnels.

  3. Family Homes : Homes of Islamic Jihad operatives.

  4. Power Targets: Residential and high-rise buildings .

  • THE GOSPEL SYSTEM: Which produces possible military targets for            specific  buildings and structures in GAZA.   


The system significantly boosts up the targeting process where human analysts might identify 50 targets in a year ,the Gospel can generate up to 100 targets in a single day. This Ai -driven approach has dramatically increased the IDF’s ability to conduct airstrikes, but there’s a very important thing we need to be concerned about ,that is the probability of civilian casualties. 


  • SCARS LEFT BY THE GOSPEL:   

             According to the Israeli authorities ,the world’s first Ai battle took place in May 2021 through the Gospel, which made their power stronger than ever. It helps them to increase their targeting process where human analysts might identify 50 targets in a year ,the Gospel can generate up to 100 targets in a single day . The IDF said  , “more than 12000” targets in GAZA had been identified by its target administration division. The number of strikes on GAZA in the current conflict has significantly exceeded those in previous wars. In the first 35 days on October 7, the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) reported bombing 15,000 targets . In comparison ,5263 targets were hit over 51 days during the 2014 conflict ,according to the IDF. The GAZA Health Ministry has reported nearly 20,000 deaths, with 70% being women and children . This ongoing  war is described by the Associated Press’s Julia Frankel as “the deadliest and most destructive confrontation between Hamas and Israel since Hamas took control of GAZA in 2007.


  • IS IT ALL AI’S FAULT:


Ai was created with the aim of making human tasks easier and it was created with the intention of performing a task in less time ,but AI is now being used to kill innocent people which is very sad and nefarious. So the question is, is AI a threat to humanity? Besides ,is everything AI’s fault? 

If we need to answer the question through the reference of the Gospel, then first we need to know how the Gospel works we can learn many details of the Gospel from above, also we need to know about a vital information of the Gospel that Tal Mimran (Former Legal Advisor of Israeli Ministry of Justice and Military ) said in an interview with Al Jazeera. According to Tal Mimran, target which is attacked from the air by the IDF goes through the analysis of both Intelligence officers and legal advisers. So AI may be used to collect data and identify targets ,but ultimately attacks aren’t carried out by military and political leaders. If these technologies cause harm, the responsibility still lies with the humans who designed ,programmed and commanded the system.
